Software Test Analyst
Department : Assessment – Schools.
Purpose of this Position
The Software Test Lead will contribute to the day to day QA and test execution, governance, and automation activities of our Pearson Qualifications digital products in an effort to consolidate and align environments.
Responsibilities.
Accountable for QA & UAT test governance, QA & UAT plans, test cases, test summary reports
Plan and coordinate Business Verification Testing (BVT) activities
Perform tests utilising both automated and manual software testing process
Writing, maintaining, and executing manual and automated test scripts
Maintaining test plans and defects using a test management tool
Essential to have knowledge on Atlassian suite of tools, JIRA, One-Confluence, BitBucket
Familiar with the DevSecOps model
Plan and drive static security vulnerability testing element of the software development life cycle.
Own the CI/CD pipeline for QA and UAT deployments.
Test web applications across multiple desktop resolution and responsive layouts to cater for mobile devices (iOS, Android) and multiple browsers
Experience with SQL and databases for test setup and troubleshooting.
Participate in daily stand-ups, iteration demos and iteration retrospectives.
Accomplish tasks assigned and provide regular updates to test manager, communicate test metrics, progress, efficiency and blockers.
Producing relevant technical documentation to capture assumptions, key business rules, Use Case diagrams as appropriate.
Troubleshoot to understand if the issue can be fixed straight away.
Report issues to the product team if a solution can’t be found.
Coordinating the workflow between the graphic designer, backend team and yourself
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications and/or Experience
Must have-7+ years of software testing experience. Strong solution test designing and test script development skills.
Problem solving and critical thinking. Customer first attitude.
Practical understanding of Agile and SCRUM methodology
Experience in Automation testing using Selenium and Cucumber
Preferable
Non-functional testing is an asset (performance, usability, security)
