Pearson Senior Performance Engineer in Chennai, India
Sr Performance Engineer: Level C1 - 7 to 10 yrs. exp
7+ years of progressive technical experience in Software engineering, Performance Engineering, Site-Reliability and DevOps
Be a performance test advocate and advisor to the various engineering teams
Extensive experience with various kinds of load testing tools
Experience conducting performance testing to ensure system capacity, reliability, and scalability
Ability to understand and translate test requirements into a testable and correct design
Ability to develop a test plan as required
Strong hands-on experience with JMeter & LoadRunner
Knowledge of performance monitoring tools
Hands-on experience analyzing reports and documenting observations to identify bottlenecks
Investigates & reports project issues by communicating & working with various departments including Development, Product, Project Management, Systems & Application support groups, Network Engineering, etc., as well as other project teams
Using workload information and performance results to identify and understand performance bottlenecks and provide tuning recommendations
Contribute actively to Performance Engineering team’s development and testing processes
Communicate and collaborate across levels, functions, and organizational boundaries
Experience with Performance test framework development and automation
Experience working with large scale distributed systems and cloud technologies
Required Skills:
Experience with some of the following technologies and services:
Cloud technologies (especially AWS)
Load testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad etc.
Application Monitoring Tools – New Relic, Google Analytics, CloudWatch
Experience with Continuous Integration environments
Preferred Skills:
Ability to work with Java, Python, or similar language
Knowledge of Virtualization & Containerization (e.g., Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, etc.)
Demonstrate excellent Resiliency Engineering skills and solid understanding of distributed systems to improve reliability and availability
