About the role
The Manager, Global Sanctions Compliance will report to the AGC, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer Sanctions and oversee and enhance Pearson’s Sanctions compliance program. Advise on existing and new US Department of Treasury (OFAC, EAR) and Department of Commerce (BIS) and UK OFSI rules that may impact Pearson’s business segments
Key Responsibilities
Provide advice and support to businesses on mergers and acquisitions to comply global Sanctions requirements.
Draft policies and procedures that are “fit for purpose” and in line with US and other jurisdictions requirements for an effective Sanctions program
Work closely with the Pearson Global Head, 3rd Party Compliance to coordinate sanctions training, 3rd party reviews and align program integration with due diligence program. Coordinate with Global Head, Fraud & Investigations if matters need to be escalated.
Work closely with Pearson business and Function leads and Legal team to ensure Sanctions program is adhered to.
Work closely with the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
Coordinate and collaborate with other functions that support the businesses including, but not limited to, Legal, Corporate Secretary, M&A, Internal Audit and Finance teams.
Provide support to ACG, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer as needed.
Develop and roll out a comprehensive training program around Sanctions practices.
Work closely with Litigation team lead, when necessary.
Conduct annual risk review/ assessment of Sanctions program.
Create appropriate training materials and policies in collaboration with Legal Operations training lead
Conduct training sessions for in scope employees.
Develop “train the trainer” program for Local Compliance Officers (LCO)
About you:
Required
University Degree
Prior experience in global trade and export regulations (US OFAC, UK OFSI) with the ability to quickly locate and interpret requirements to provide solutions to issues in creative and effective ways.
Perform classification determinations (ITAR, EAR, HTS, and Schedule B).
Strong computer knowledge, including excellent MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
Preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of global sanctions compliance experience preferably with a background in US and/ or EU regulatory rules in the banking or finance sectors.:

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the US pay range for this position is as follows::
The full-time salary range is between $110,000 – $135,000
