Pearson Assessment Leader (Fixed Term) in United Kingdom

As an Assessment Leader, you will own the end-to-end delivery of assessments for your portfolio of qualifications. Reporting to the Head of Subject and working as part of a wider team that includes product management, marketing, and sales, you will play a key role in delivering a professional and customer-focused service.
Contract: 6-month Fixed-term contracts available. Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
Role location: This is a hybrid role allowing for remote work as well as office presence in Manchester at least 2 days per week. Occasional travel to our London office may be required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Lead a subject area to ensure question papers are engaging, inclusive, and relevant.
Ensure accurate and timely marking, and set grade boundaries.
Engage in long-term projects to improve your portfolio and meet customer needs.
Ensure the quality of all assessment materials through continuous improvement.
Analyze and interpret assessment data for comparability and consistency.
Oversee question paper/assessment material production and sign-off to meet deadlines.
Focus on providing the best-in-class customer experience, support, engagement, insight, and retention.
Provide customer-friendly support to help customers understand the assessment processes.
Support assessment initiatives such as digital assessments, mock services, etc.
Quality monitor examiners and their marking of examinations.
Ensure timely escalations to the Head of Subject on adherence to schedules or regulatory matters.
Adhere to regulatory and internal procedures at all stages, maintaining high documentation standards.
Identify efficiencies and quality enhancements in processes.
Work collaboratively within your subject team and across the wider Assessment team.
Motivate, lead, and manage a team of senior examiners.
Manage your training and seek advice and support from the Head of Subject.

Assessment Leaders may also have a range of experience in assessment roles, such as a teacher or departmental lead in a school or college, or another role in the education sector.
Ideally, you will have previous experience in a customer-facing role, a subject specialism, and/or experience with assessment materials and processes within a regulated framework.
As a highly motivated individual, you’ll have the aptitude to prioritize and manage your workload effectively, ensuring crucial tasks are managed within tight, immovable deadlines. You should be able to problem-solve, react positively to change, and be an effective communicator, influencing others while working collaboratively with key stakeholders.

Maintaining attention to detail even with repetitive tasks.
Adapting to the challenges of each qualification.
Adapting to different IT systems.
Supporting Assessment Associates in their use of new technologies.
Influencing and working closely with Assessment Associates and internal stakeholders.
Simultaneously managing tasks for multiple examination series.
