Pearson National Board Assessor in Austin, TX in Austin, Texas
Help shape the profession that shapes America's future!
Pearson is actively seeking National Board-Certified Teachers (NBCTs) and practicing educators who are currently working at least half-time and have at least three years of full-time teaching/counseling experience in a PK-12 setting at our Austin, TX location. We need educators who are currently teaching at least half-time in the following certificate areas:
ART Grades PK-6
English as New Language Grades PK-6
Exceptional Needs Specialist Grades PK-12
Generalist Grades 2-6
Literacy: Reading-Language Arts Grades PK-6
Music Grade 6-12 (Band)
Science Grades 6-9
Scoring Details:
Scoring schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
Scoring Location: 400 Center Ridge Dr, Austin, TX 78753
Scoring Dates: July 2024
What is a National Board Assessor?
National Board assessors score candidate responses to portfolio or assessment center exercises and are trained to look for evidence of a candidate's practice through the lens of the National Board standards. Assessors are compensated at an hourly rate of (plus any applicable milestones) for all training and scoring activities, and the regular work hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, for the duration of the project.
How to Apply
As only practicing educators and current National Board-Certified Teachers (NBCTs) are selected to assess the submissions, we could not complete our work without the help of our dedicated teacher participants. The knowledge and experience that NBCTs bring to the National Board Certification process are invaluable, and we would love for you to join our team this summer!
