About the position
As a Senior Product Designer for Discovery and Progress, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of our platform. You will focus on designing intuitive, engaging, and effective experiences that facilitate the discovery of new lessons and tracking of user progress. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams and your expertise in user-centered design will ensure our solutions are both innovative and practical.
Responsibilities
Lead design initiatives from concept to execution for the Discovery and Progress domains of the Mondly platform.
Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to create innovative, user-friendly designs.
Translate user needs and business goals into creative solutions.
Develop comprehensive designs in Figma and interactive prototypes in FigJam to effectively communicate design ideas.
Conduct user interviews, usability tests, and A/B tests to gather user feedback and improve design solutions.
Work in an Agile development environment, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Advocate for design excellence, always aiming to meet both user needs and business goals.
Stay current with design trends, technologies, and best practices, bringing new ideas to the team.
Present your designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and stakeholders, capturing feedback to iterate upon.
Mentor junior designers, leading by example and providing constructive feedback.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, HCI, or related field.
5+ years of experience in product design, ideally with a focus on EdTech
Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in designing and launching successful EdTech products.
Deep understanding of design principles, including motion and interaction design.
Experience with Figma
Experience working with large-scale design systems
Strong ability to think holistically about user experiences and design systems.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and analytics.
Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with experience leading and guiding other designers.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders.
Passion for learning and EdTech, and a desire to shape the future of these industries.
Familiarity with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and Google's Material UI, and a strong understanding of design principles for VR and MR user interfaces.
Belief in Mondly’s mission to create a world where learning new languages is enjoyable and accessible to everyone with access to a smartphone
