The Tradeshow Marketing Manager is responsible for ensuring that Certiport / Pearson VUE attends and exhibits at key industry tradeshows throughout the year to best promote our certification portfolio. The Marketing Manager will work closely with the sales leadership team to identify which shows are strategic for Certiport to attend, and then build a strategic plan of attack for all confirmed shows. The Marketing Manager will organize and execute all the necessary details related to each event to ensure success. This includes staffing requirements, scheduling, promotional materials, shipping, and all other details related to each event. The Tradeshow Marketing Manager will be responsible for managing and tracking an assigned budget for the year. He/she will also be responsible for tracking and passing along, to the sales team, all the leads generated at the events. The Event Marketing Manager will also be responsible to determine and communicate the ROI for each event. This position will report to the Director of Field Marketing.
Tactical execution of trade shows program
Full event management of about 120 small-to-medium size exhibits, including all aspects of event logistics from development of content, production, venue management, promotions, employee coordination and other show-related responsibilities
Create and manage project schedules and timelines
Manage budgets, ensuring all shows are executed within budget
Work closely with 3rd party vendor to ensure booth properties are pulled and shipped for timely arrival at shows
Pull and ship printed and marketing materials for each show
Source, order and maintain promotional and printed materials in house for each program
Order supplies for 3rd party vendor as requested
Source and order all Certiport owned booth properties
Support sales staff by shipping promotional material for territory visits
Manage FedEx account
Full event management of 3-5 hospitality suites, including all aspects of event logistics venue selection, F&B management, legal approval for ABC compliance, invitations and tracking of attendees
Work with creative team to develop booth properties and materials
Interact with event properties, vendors, and partners as required
Brief and prepare Certiport sales and marketing personnel attending each event
Help develop and implement marketing activities to drive attendance to booth, sessions and other events at specific shows
Travel and on-site event management (approximately 4 weeks of travel a year)
Reporting and post-event support
Nurture leads ensuring they are entered in Salesforce in a timely manner
Work with field marketing team to ensure post-show communications are sent to show attendees
Create event reports and maintain database of event history, including photos
Track ROI and report regularly on results via email and in Quarterly Business Review
Strategic planning and organization of trade shows
Design key message for shows. Direct look and feel of each event.
Work closely with sales leadership and product and field marketing managers to create annual trade show calendar.
Develop annual tradeshow budget based on selected events
Selection of booth and sponsorship for shows
Investigate speaking opportunities and coordinate submissions
Support for corporate events
- Support the larger Certiport marketing team in executing key corporate events throughout the year
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business or Marketing
3+ years of experience in events or marketing
1+ years of experience in budget management and tracking
1+ years of experience in education marketplace preferred
Great communication skills
Must be detail-oriented
Ability to build up and maintain relationships effectively
Ability to deal with fast-paced changes
Effective time management and prioritizing skills
Ability to work independently under limited guidance on numerous projects simultaneously
Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Internet browsers. Certification on Microsoft Office is preferred
